🚨📣In coordination with the flood control centre in Béziers, we are going to trigger the warning siren, which only concerns flooding on the Orb plain.

There's no need to panic, but stay vigilant. The elected representatives and departments of the town hall remain mobilised.
Exceptionally, the Town Hall will be open until 8pm.

UPDATE - Sunday 13 March 2022 - 11.45am

ℹ️🌧️ The Orb continues to flood, but very slowly, with the river level just reaching 12 metres at Béziers.

🌬️🟠The situation is stable, even though we have just been upgraded to orange vigilance for violent winds.

🚧The cofferdams installed on the chemin de la Barque vieille are at half water level, so be vigilant in the Récantou and Sainte-Eulalie areas, where it is recommended that vehicles be parked safely.

⚠️🌧️However, further precipitation is forecast for the upper Cantons during the afternoon, which should be accompanied by thundery rain that could cause run-off as well as flooding of the Orb. However, the wind is expected to change to a "moderate" northerly at the end of the day.

👉The crisis unit has been in operation since yesterday evening, with elected representatives and all Town Hall departments mobilised to ensure the public's safety.

❗⚠️Be careful and only take the road if you have to, as many lanes are closed.
We will keep you informed of developments.

Update - Sunday 13 March 2022 - 00:00

ℹ️
🌧️ The Orb burst its banks at Maussac and in Les Salancs. The Maussac, Patau and Aspes roads were closed to traffic, as was the old Sérignan road (CD37).

🚧 Cofferdams have been installed at Chemin de la Barque vieille and Chemin des Salancs.

👉 However, according to the relevant authorities, the situation is beginning to stabilise and should improve over the next few hours, even if the rain continues to fall.

The Municipal Police and Technical Services are always on hand to ensure everyone's safety.

🤝Thank you to everyone who offered to help.

Update - Saturday 12 March 2022 - 3.30pm

The rain has not stopped, but the streams are playing their drainage role perfectly for the time being. Regular cleaning and maintenance are bearing fruit. As for the Orb, it is continuing to rise, but nothing to worry about for the moment.
The roads are very wet, so be careful of the risk of aquaplaning if you have to get behind the wheel.
We will keep you informed if the situation deteriorates in the coming hours.
