The Hérault is under a heatwave alert (vigilance orange) from 12 noon today, Friday 9 August, until an unspecified date.
Maximum temperatures will be between 35 and 38°C throughout the département.
Instructions to follow :
- Pay particular attention to vulnerable and/or isolated people
- Drink water regularly, without waiting until you're thirsty, and eat normally.
- Limit your physical activity
- Close the shutters and windows during the day and ventilate at night
- Avoid going out during the hottest part of the day
- Wet your body several times a day (shower, spray bottle...)
- Go to a cool or air-conditioned place 2-3 hours a day
- If you feel unwell or have any behavioural problems, call a doctor.
- Swimming: take care to avoid the risk of hydrocution. Wet your neck, head and arms and enter the water gradually.
