Where can the wedding take place?

The location can be one of the following communes:

  • that of the domicile or residence of one of the future spouses,
  • That of the domicile or residence of a relative of the future spouses.

When can marriages be celebrated?

The marriage may not be celebrated before 10 December.th day following publication of the banns.

The day of the celebration is agreed with the Mairie.

Documents to be provided :

  • Full copy of birth certificate
    • dated less than 3 months before the date of the wedding if issued in France
    • dated less than six months before the date of marriage if issued by a consulate
  • An identity document issued by a public authority
  • Proof of address or residence
  • A certificate of celibacy or non remarriage for foreign nationals and a certificate of custom.
  • Copy of the identity document of witnesses (witnesses must be of legal age; there must be at least 2 and no more than 4)
  • A certificate from the notary if a marriage contract has been drawn up
  • The forms given by the registrar and completed by the future spouses

Where can I collect and submit my marriage application?

At the Civil Status Department at the Town Hall, 1 rue de la Marianne.

When can I collect and submit my marriage application?

  • Applications can be collected every day from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm.
  • Full applications can only be submitted by appointment.

Deadlines for submitting applications

The complete application must be submitted :

  • 30 days before the wedding date if the future spouses are of French nationality
  • 45 days before the wedding if the spouses are foreign nationals or domiciled abroad
